Posts vs Pages

Posts are time-sensitive content entries displayed in reverse chronological order. They’re designed for blog articles, news updates, and regularly published content. Posts support categories and tags for organization.

Pages are static, timeless content meant for information that doesn’t change frequently. They’re used for About pages, Contact forms, Privacy Policies, and other permanent site content. Pages don’t use categories or tags but can be organized hierarchically with parent-child relationships.

Key Differences #

  • Organization: Posts use categories and tags; Pages use hierarchical parent-child structure
  • Chronology: Posts are date-based and archived by month/year; Pages are dateless
  • Use Case: Posts for timely content; Pages for permanent information
  • Display: Posts appear on blog/archive pages; Pages typically stand alone
