Toolset Custom Taxonomies

Custom Taxonomies: Custom taxonomies let you create your own classification systems beyond the default categories and tags. For instance, you might create a “Genre” taxonomy for movies, “Ingredients” for recipes, or “Location” for events. Custom taxonomies allow you to organize content in ways that make sense for your specific site.

Tags vs Categories: By default, Posts allow you to set Categories and Tags on each individual Post. Categories are hierarchical (can have parent-child relationships) and meant for broad grouping of content. Think of them as your site’s table of contents. Tags are non-hierarchical, more specific, and describe details within your content, like keywords or topics. A blog post might be in the “Travel” category but tagged with “Paris,” “budget travel,” and “solo trip.”
